Section Information
The ISA Edmonton Section is part of an international professional technical society with nearly 40,000 members. ISA Edmonton offers a wide range of local programs and activities of interest to anyone involved in measurement and control in the process and discrete manufacturing industries.
We hold monthly technical meetings usually on the last Monday of the month September through November and January through May. These meetings are not only an ideal way to network with colleagues who are actively involved in the instrumentation and automation fields in northern Alberta but also offer an opportunity to learn about relevant technical topics. Attendance at these meetings range from 40 to 80 people.
ISA Edmonton supports and organizes the annual Oil Sands Automation conference in Ft. McMurray. It is the only conference specifically focused on the unique challenges of the oil sands industry. In addition, we organize a biennial (even years) trade show and conference in Edmonton.
We actively support dynamic student chapters at both the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and the University of Alberta (U of A). ISA Edmonton has endowed several scholarships at both institution. To learn more about these scholarships check out the NAIT and U of A scholarship pages on this website or contact your respective student chapter advisor listed on the Board of Directors page.
The ISA Edmonton Section, in collaboration with ISA Calgary, publishes an annual instrumentation directory for Alberta. Every section member, as well as all advertisers, receive a free copy of the directory every fall. There is also an online copy of the www.isaalbertadirectory.ca available to anyone.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with running the section. Browse the Board of Directors' Duties page to see which position peaks your interest, matches your unique skill set, or offers you the opportunity to develop a skill that can further your professional career.
